Description

I gave myself a little plastic surgery last night.
Someone said I needed to smile more.
Yah, that was lame. Oh well.

I was experimenting with ‪‎makeup‬ again.
A friend came by and we each practiced on our own faces.
This is what I did. For some reason, I decided at the last second to try The ‪Joker‬ look from ‪‎Batman‬.
I used a ‪‎latex‬ cut wound ‪prosthetic‬ I had from something else. Luckily I had that, so I didn't have to make something. I clipped it in half with scissors and used either end for the wound on each cheek.

The only problem was that the normal edges all around the prosthetic were fine and blended in nicely with my skin, but where I had cut was thicker.

The quickest and easiest way to fix that was ‪#‎MorticiansWax‬. Works wonders. Learned how to make it recently. Super easy too.

Other than the area to either side of the mouth and some fake ‪‎blood‬/bloody scab. (that stuff is ‪‎awesome‬ too) It's all basic makeup from a cheap $3.00 makeup kit from Walmart. All in all, if you totalled up the cost of doing this, I think the prosthetic came in a kit that normally costs two or three and came with a tube of bloody scab. You probably have the materials in your house to make Mortician's wax so that won't cost anything. best case, 6 bucks. Worst case, maybe ten. Anywho... Happy ‪‎Halloween‬ early. 9 Days to go.

Note: There are variations in the makeup shown. This collage of pics shows a couple attempts and  me messing around with different things. And then adding the Mortician's wax. I think most of them have that. I think there are only a couple of pics from the first try. The others are from like early the following morning.

Actually, you could do the mouth part without a prosthetic easily. Mortician's wax is awesome. stick a glob on your face and smooth and shape it with a knife or other sculpting tool of your choice. Sculpt out the shape you want. You could sculpt a wound. I've seen people sculpt terminator cyborg parts with it and all kinds of things on youtube tutorials. You could make the wounds above using that and it would make this whole thing even cheaper. Especially since the recipe for the wax is as simple as two ingredients you probably have in your house already: flower and petroleum jelly. Just mix until you have a gooey substance, like putty or clay. Put extra Petroleum Jelly on your fingers to keep it from sticking. Some people don't like it too gooey and sticky. Some love it that way. Experiment until you get the consistency you like. There are other recipes out there too. You can also buy the stuff in costume supply places and online. fairly cheap usually in small amounts.  Names it goes by are Mortician's Wax, Syn Wax, Nose putty, Scar putty, FX wax and some others. There are a ton of FX places online to buy them. Ben Nye makes a good one if you'd rather buy. But just go with Amazon. Those places tend to stick to certain prices and you'll often find it 50% cheaper or so on amazon.  Plus, if you're running around last-minute hit the Halloween shops locally, supermarkets, drug stores. A lot of pharmacies start marking Halloween stuff half off by Oct 15th. But what you'll be looking for if you can find the straight stuff is cheap makeup kits with cheap prosthetics. Usually, you can find a few that have scar putty in a small package. and they're like 3 or 4 bucks a piece.

Well, have fun. Scare the shit outta someone.
